Three MIT-licensed libraries born from my own product needs. Each exposes an idiomatic API (contexts, typed errors, functional options) and is tested in CI.
Context
When the official API is missing, limited or gated behind approval (Spotify, PlayStation, Yahoo Finance), the only path is reverse engineering: observe the traffic, reproduce the requests, absorb server-side changes.
What I built
- spotify-private-api (15 ★): tracks, artists, albums and play counts without any token, through browser-like requests (TLS fingerprint); mocks for testing.
- go-playstation-api: NPSSO authentication, user profile and game library, functional options pattern.
- yfinance-api: real-time prices, OHLCV history, dividends, 20+ financial ratios, financial statements and news, with tests and benchmarks.
Outcome
20 GitHub stars combined; spotify-private-api is the core of SoundTales and go-playstation-api powers an internal API. Maintained as my needs evolve.
