My first published projects. The idea: backport content from newer Minecraft versions (Netherite, bamboo, cherry, rafts, hanging signs…) to the older versions many servers and modpacks still run.
Context
Every Minecraft version breaks the modding API. A backport means understanding the game's decompiled code, recreating blocks, items, recipes, world generation and entities, then maintaining all of it across several versions in parallel.
What I built
- NetherUpdate Netherite (2020): Netherite and Nether content for 1.7.10, 1.12.2 and 1.14.4.
- Trails & Tales Backport / OneTwenty (2023): 1.20 content for 1.18.2 → 1.19.3, with a public progress tracker and GitHub discussions.
- Smaller mods: Frost Arium, MoreUpgrade, Craft Uncraftable, Simple Ore (Fabric), Cave Update.
Outcome
≈ 97,000 downloads for NetherUpdate and ≈ 83,000 for Trails & Tales (CurseForge + Modrinth, September 2026). CurseForge author since 2020.
