Free web app that lets EFREI students view their grades per semester, automatically compute weighted averages per module and teaching unit, and track their ECTS credits. Used by more than 350 students.
Context
Official academic platforms show raw grades with no computed average or projection. As a prep-cycle student I had the problem myself — I built the solution and opened it to the cohort.
What I built
- Versioned “year template” data model: teaching units → modules → assessments (labs, tutorials, continuous assessment, projects…), with multi-track support (P1 then P2).
- Admin space to create and evolve templates without redeploying; semesters show up automatically for students.
- Google OAuth sign-in, legal pages, statistics, progress charts, dark mode, mobile responsive.
- New Relic monitoring, Resend transactional e-mails, Docker packaging and hosting on my own VPS.
Outcome
In production since January 2026 at grades.genivo.fr, adopted by 350+ students. Source code public on GitHub.
